This Tahoe home is located on an amazing lot surrounded by pine trees and nestled by a seasonal creek. Initially, the home was extremely dark and closed in with little natural light and small enclosed spaces. The clients wanted to embrace the Tahoe wood feel, with large open windows and an outside patio that could be used for entertaining and relaxing among the trees.
The final design lifted the roof and back side of the home, creating privacy and security on the street side, while completely embracing and opening itself to the natural world in the back. Large glulam beams, natural cedar and tongue and groove soffits create a warm and inviting space - perfect to enjoy the outdoors.
